Crews Respond To House Fire In Turtle Township | News

Four area fire departments were involved in fighting a fire that is believed to have started in a baseboard heater at a Turtle Township home late Wednesday night.
Rock County Sheriff's Office officials said the fire started at about 9:20 p.m. When crews arrived, they said they noticed smoke and flames coming from the residence.
Firefighters were able to contain and extinguish the fire quickly, officials said. They said they were able to limit the damage to the home, which suffered moderate fire and smoke damage.
Deputies from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office along with Turtle Township Fire Department and Beloit Township Fire Department were dispatched to a residential fire at 8908 S. Creek Rd. After initial emergency crews began arriving, additional assistance was requested from Clinton Fire Department and the Beloit Fire Department.
The fire departments were able to contain and extinguish the fire quickly, which limited the amount of damage to the residence. Nobody was home at the time of the fire, officials said.
The fire remains under investigation at this time.Emergency crews remained on scene until about 12:30 a.m. and parts of East Huebbe Parkway and South Creek Road were closed due to emergency traffic in the area, authorities said.
