1-Vehicle Crash Shuts Down Highway 104 In Rock County

A 49-year-old Brodhead woman suffered minor injuries after she rolled over her vehicle at Highway 104 and West Emery Road in Union Township on Friday morning.

The Rock County Sheriff's Offiice said deputies and emergency responders were called at 6:04 a.m. Highway 104 was shut down from until 7 a.m. because the driver ran into a telephone pole. The road was closed due to power lines crossing the road.

The driver was trapped upside down in her car because of the downed power lines. She was eventually able to crawl out from the vehicle, officials said. She was treated by EMS for minor injuries.

The accident remains under investigation and no citations have been issued. Alcohol was not believed to be a factor, however, speed is believed to be a contributing cause, authorities said.
