The School District of Beloit is hosting a community event Saturday to promote wellness, according to a release.

The Good to Great Activate Festival is at the Beloit Memorial High School at 1225 Fourth Street and runs from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., according to the release.

Event registration starts at 9 a.m. at the BMHS field house entrance, event organizers said. The activities start at 9:30 a.m. with a 2 mile walk/run.

Activity and information stations will be stationed along the walk/run route with each challenge offering a chance to earn raffle tickets for a drawing, according to the release.

BMHS will also host tours and hold student demonstrations from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. of the new cardio and strength center and student lounge, officials said. Demonstrations will highlight new physical education curriculum activities and the Wii Fit Dance System.

A free lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the high school cafeteria, organizers said. Lunch will include turkey chili, minestrone soup, whole grain breads, and a variety of fruits and vegetables.
