11 couples say 'I do' on unique date | Events
With a unique date like 2-14-2014, 11 couples in Janesville were thinking it would be a memorable day for a white wedding. Or make that red and white, since there was plenty of both colors to celebrate the group nuptials at the Rock County Courthouse this Valentine's Day.
The brides and grooms gathered at the courthouse to be part of a free wedding ceremony offered by the Rock County Clerk's Office and Court Commissioner Steve Meyer.
Meyer officiated the 10:30 a.m. ceremony as the couples, who ranged from 19 to 86 years old, said their "I do's" and sealed it with a kiss.
Couples were required to apply for a marriage license with the County Clerk at least six days in advance, which cost $95 per pair.
