Entire Rock River under slow-no-wake restriction | Environment
A slow-no-wake speed restriction has been placed on the Rock River downstream of the West Beloit Rock Town Line Road Bridge, according to a release from the Rock County Sheriff’s Office.
County ordinance requires the speed restriction to be placed on the river when water levels exceed 8.50 feet in Afton, and the water level is at 8.66 feet, officials said.
Deputies will be posting slow-no-wake signs along the river at all public access points between the West Beloit Rock Town Line Road Bridge and the state line, according to the release.
The entire Rock River is now under a slow-no-wake restriction, officials said. Lake Koshkonong is exempt from the speed restriction.
