Police investigate possibly-connected armed robberies

Beloit police are investigating two armed robberies that happened Monday around 3:15 p.m. with a similar suspect description, according to a release.

Officers responded to the Beloit Bicycle Company at 110 W. Grand Ave. and Pizza Hut at 802 Fourth Street Monday afternoon, officials said.

A robber threatened the Beloit Bicycle Company clerk with a hammer and the Pizza Hut clerk was threatened with a knife, investigators said. The robber at both businesses fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

According to the release, no one was injured during either incident.

The man involved in both robberies is described as white, 6 feet tall and had a thin build. He was wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.
