Walmart gives police $3k for community programs | Business
Walmart donated money to the local police department to fund community programs.
According to a Janesville Police Department release Wednesday, the Walmart Foundation and the Janesville Walmart gave $3,000 through the Local Facility Giving Program.
"Walmart believes that the police department is doing important work in the community it serves and Walmart is proud to be able to support [those] efforts," Janesville police said in the release.
Police said the $3,000 will support the police department's 12th annual Bike Rodeo on June 7 at Wilson Elementary School. The money will also help the "Shop with a Cop" program in December at Walmart.
